The highlight for this issue was compiling an article on the leaders who made the Department of Cardiology of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The stimulus was an alumni meet organized as a part of India Live 2016. It was attended by some of the most respectable stalwarts of our department and they evoked fond memories of the department, all the way from its inception under Prof. Sujoy B. Roy to the present day. One of the major contributions of our department has always been that it has trained and produced the leaders of tomorrow. Started by Dr. Sujoy B. Roy, the department has produced many leaders. Dr. M. L. Bhatia, Dr. Rajan Tandon, Dr. H. S. Wasir, Dr. M. Khallilullah, Dr. S. C. Manchanda, Dr. U. Kaul, Dr. S. Srivastava, Dr. K. S. Reddy, and Dr. K. K. Talwar are just some of the leading examples. They have not only lead the departments in their respective institutions but also created the next generations of leaders in cardiology (photographs and video links are available in this article).

The essence of our departmental teaching is our morning meetings from 8 to 9 am. These are reflected in the Curriculum in Cardiology in which we include journal clubs, case discussions, discussions on statistics, and quizzes. Original articles include one of the first large surveys on heart failure in the community, the INDUS study, which reveals surprising results, but shows the need to conduct more such studies and not just depend on Western data. In our statistics section, we continue to simplify the concepts, and this time, we have taken up odds ratio and again show the use of online calculators for its calculation. In our Review Section and Journal Club, we take up neuro-interventions with a review of the recent literature on stroke and carotid interventions.

We are also pleased to announce that we are now partnering with the Indian Section of the International Society for Heart Research and will be responsible for the abstract issues of their annual conference. This year's conference was held in Chennai in February, and the abstract issue is already online at www.j-pcs.org/showBackIssue.asp?issn = 2395-5414;year = 2016;volume = 2;issue = 4;month = April; supp = Y.

We have been online since March 11, 2015, and our most viewed article has been “Hippocrates and the Hippocratic oath,” our most downloaded article has been “Evolution, evidence and effect of secondary prophylaxis against rheumatic fever,” and our most viewed original article has been “Epidemiology of cardiomyopathy - A clinical and genetic study of dilated cardiomyopathy: The EPOCH-D study.”

Into the 2nd year, we invite everyone to help us take this journal to even greater heights.
