In this edition of conference news, we round up on conferences on heart failure in India. The Cardiology Society of India held its first conference on heart failure in Indore. The Heart Failure Association of India held its meeting in Delhi. AIIMS, JNU and the Journal of the Practice of Cardiovascular Sciences will conduct the Heart Failure Certification Program in October in JNU. With the increasing incidence of heart failure in India, a number of recent conferences have focused on heart failure in the past one year.
Cardiological Society of India and its heart failure council organized the 1st National Conference on Heart Failure “CSI-HFC2015” on August 08 and 09, 2015 at Indore hosted by CSI-Indore chapter with the theme “Fighting heart failure: From prevention to devices.” This was held in Indore, the city known for its hospitality and delicious food, and described as the commercial capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh. There were a wide range of speakers both from India and the European Society of Cardiology. Dr. A.K. Pancholia was the organizing secretary and Prof. Umesh C. Samal was the Convener, CSI Heart Failure Council [Figure 1].
The Heart Failure Association of India, also held its first meeting in JW Marriot, Aerocity, New Delhi in February 2015, organized by Dr. V. K. Chopra from Medanta The Medicity. This association also started a heart failure registry [Figure 2].
In continuation of these activities, AIIMS, along with Jawaharlal Nehru University and the Journal of the Practice of Cardiovascular Sciences will conduct the “Cardiovascular Research Convergence and Heart Failure Certification Program” on October 03, 2015 in the Convention Center in JNU, New Delhi [Figure 3].
