Prof. V. R. Rao

Professor V. R. Rao is an eminent anthropologist in India. Currently, he is associated with the Department of Anthropology, University of Delhi. Molecular anthropology, human genome diversity and ancient migrations, evolutionary biology of disease processes, genetics of complex phenotypes, community genetics, and human welfare are his areas of interest in teaching and research. He was the recipient of the Young Scientist Award of the Indian Society of Human Genetics in 1981, President of India Award in 2003, SS Sarkar Memorial Award in 2005, and Panchanan Mitra Memorial Award in 2009.

Dr. Madhu Khullar

Dr. Khullar is a Professor in the Department of Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology, PGIMER, Chandigarh. She obtained her Ph.D. from PGIMER, Chandigarh and fellowship in hypertension research from the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, USA. Her main research interest is in hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. Her research work involves studying molecular mechanisms, genetics, epigenetics and functional genomics of primary cardiomyopathies, and diabetic cardiomyopathies. She has published 160 papers in peer-reviewed international and national journals. She is editor and editorial member of several National and International Journals.

Dr. Sridhar Sivasubbu

Dr. Sridhar Sivasubbu is a senior scientist at CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, New Delhi. He is interested in exploiting the advantages of zebrafish to dissect molecular mechanisms of gene function, regulation and genome organization in vertebrates. His recent research activities include deciphering noncoding RNA-mediated regulation of blood vessel development, transposon-mediated gene trapping, and development of zebrafish models for application in personalized and precision medicine in humans. Sridhar did his Ph.D. from M.S. University, Tirunelveli, India and Postdoctoral Research at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, India and the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Mary Sheppard

Dr. Shephard is a Professor of cardiovascular pathology, cardiovascular sciences at St. George's Medical School, Tooting, South London. She is visiting faculty at many renowned institutions such as Imperial College and Royal Brompton Hospital. She has a special interest in cardiac arrhythmias, inherited cardiac disease, and sudden cardiac death. She works in close collaboration with charity CRY, cardiac risk in the young. She is an expert in medicolegal cases involving cardiac disease.
